Why are you running for the Board of Education?

I am an incumbent running for my fourth term to serve on Frelinghuysen Township School Board of Education. I enjoy representing the taxpayers and working closely with the administration and fellow board members to ensure that students of Frelinghuysen Township School continue to receive an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment.

What are the three most important issues facing the school district today?

1. Continuing to provide all students with a quality education. One that meets their individual needs and prepares them for academic success.

2. With the decrease in state aid, creating balanced budgets that do not affect the quality of education has become more challenging.

Tell us about yourself and what experience do you have that would make you a good candidate for the School Board position?

I have lived in Frelinghuysen for 20 years, and have had two children attend Frelinghuysen Township School. The education they received at FTS provided them with an excellent foundation. I recognize how special our community school is and the importance of preserving it,

What have you done to prepare to be a Board of Education member?

I have had the distinct honor of serving as President of the board for seven years. I am a certified board member through the NJ School Boards Association. I have served on many committees and participated in many professional development opportunities in the areas such as student achievement, strategic planning, and negotiations throughout my tenure.

What are the strengths and achievements of the School District and the community it serves?

Frelinghuysen Township School is a high performing school that is able to provide individualized instruction to its students. The dedicated staff works tirelessly to ensure that each student is supported in a safe and caring environment. Frelinghuysen students are well prepared for the challenges of middle school and beyond.
