December 2, 1935 – December 8, 2025
Philip D. Reynolds, 90, of Hopatcong, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on December 8, 2025.
Born on December 2, 1935, in Manila, Philippines, to Richard and Luz (Domingo) Reynolds, Philip lived a long and full life rooted in love, dedication, and quiet strength.
Philip spent much of his working life as a merchant seaman with the Seafarers International Union, a career he cherished. Life at sea brought him pride, purpose, and a deep appreciation for the world beyond the horizon. Despite his adventures, he remained a homebody at heart, happiest when surrounded by his family. Philip enjoyed watching action movies and reading thrillers, simple pleasures that brought him comfort and joy.
He is survived by his children: Dwayne Reynolds; Grace Reynolds; Michael Reynolds and his wife, Liezl; and Angel Reynolds and his wife, Sienna. Philip was a devoted grandfather to nine beloved grandchildren who brought light and laughter to his days. He is also survived by his siblings, Annette Castillo and Thomas P. McConnell, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, December 12th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Stanhope Union Cemetery.
Philip will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and his enduring love for the sea. May he rest in peace.
