Santa took flight from the North Pole to Blairstown Airport last week, but not with his reindeer. Instead of Dasher, Dancer, et al, the Man in Red arrived courtesy of pilot Vincent Orlandi, who brought Santa to meet his crowd of well-wishers right on time.
Santa’s visit was arranged by the Orlandi Flight School and by Jen Nodzak, who owns Wings Café, which shares the airport terminal building with Orlandi.

Blairstown Girl Scouts supplied cookies and hot chocolate, which was popular during the cold and cloudy Dec. 7 morning.
In fact, Santa emerged from the clouds as if Rudolph was at the helm.
The Big Guy’s ride for this trip was a Piper Seneca II, a twin-engine, turbo-charged that was just perfect to fill in for Santa’s sleigh.
Vincent and Jeff Orlandi, the founder of Orlandi Flight Center, have been flying Santa to Blairstown for 10 years.
In return, they like knowing children are getting a positive exposure to the aviation industry.
