Many households in our region may experience a temporary gap in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits beginning Nov. 1 (or sooner) due to the government shutdown. More than 800,000 New Jersey residents — including about 300,000 children — rely on SNAP for food assistance each month. If this applies to you or someone you know, the following local food pantries and community resources are available to help ensure everyone has access to healthy meals — and neighbors who are able are encouraged to give what they can.
