Barbara Watters, 81, a resident of Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania, passed away in Columbia on June 20, 2024. She was born in Newton on July 25, 1942 to Paul and Leta (Gruver) Jadick. She grew up in Blairstown, graduated from Blairstown High School class of 1959 and lived there most of her life.
She had been a purchasing agent for Aluma Tec in Belvidere and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She also worked at American Can in Washington, New Jersey for many years. She was a member of Effort United Methodist Church, Effort, Pennsylvania. Her enjoyment came from baking, cooking and tending flowers. Barbara loved her cats, especially her fur babies Tinkerbell, Blackie and Tiger and seven additional barn cats.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry Watters; her sister Sharon Jadick; a niece, Darlene Bandel (David); nephew Darin (Susan); her Aunt Betty Hezel; and her sister-in-law, Doris Easton. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Ruth Kratz. Barbara was predeceased her maternal aunts Helen Smith, Florence Osborne, Dorothy Labie; maternal uncles Jerry, Jacob, Jr., Harry, Ernest and Donald Gruver; her paternal aunts Helen Jadick, Stephanie Seibert, Veronica Bebe and Mary Meierstein; and paternal uncles Andrew Edward and Joseph, Jr.
There will be a memorial visitation, service and a burial of ashes at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown.
