Salvatore V. Santamaria, Jr.

Salvatore V. Santamaria, Jr., 67 years of age, a resident of Blairstown, passed away suddenly on June 5, 2024 at LVHN Pocono.

Born on November 21, 1956 to Salvatore V. and Sylvia (Pekrol) Santamaria, Sr. in Newark, Sal was well-respected in the tristate area for pest control and held many positions, one being vice president of sales and operations.

One of his greatest pleasures was bowling every Tuesday with his father. Sal was a part of the Tuesday Nighters League where he was recognized for bowling a perfect game. Sal also enjoyed playing softball where he excelled as a pitcher in Parsippany. When not playing softball, Sal was known to be a diehard New York Yankees fan. He also coached both of his children in sports and will be remembered by many as their coach. Sal loved all kinds of animals and was known to come home from work with abandoned baby raccoons and squirrels for his family to rehab. Sal also liked to relax by going fishing with his children. Family was his most enjoyable pastime, especially sharing how proud he was of his children.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol; his daughter, Meghan (Mathew); his son, Chris (fiancé Evonne); and his little angel granddaughter, Emily Ann, who he adored. Sal is also survived by his parents, Salvatore, Sr. and Sylvia; brothers, Frank and John Santamaria; and his sister, Pamela Fried, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown.
