Richard Zamorsky

Richard J. Zamorsky, aged 78, passed away on May 18, 2024, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He was born on June 16, 1945, in Somerville, to Ignatz and Isabel (Thompson) Zamorsky.

Richard dedicated his career to serving as a custodian at North Hunterdon Regional High School, where his hard work and friendly demeanor left a lasting impact on the school community. Before this, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of honor, courage and commitment throughout his life.

Richard had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening. His green thumb produced an abundance of vegetables, plants and flowers that brightened his home and brought joy to those around him. He was also an avid football fan and a loyal supporter of the NY Giants.

A true patriot, Richard loved his country deeply and was a die-hard Republican. However, his greatest passion in life was his family, to whom he was endlessly devoted.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karen Zamorsky; his daughters, Jaime Lewis, Jennifer McNally (Peter) and Jessica Zamorsky; his cherished grandchildren, Jessalyn and Brendan Peters, Adin and Liam Bittenmaster, Alex Diaz and his step-granddaughters, Josephine McNally, Chloe McNally and Courtney McNally. Richard is also survived by his beloved pets, Charlie and Hans, who brought him much joy and companionship.

Richard’s life will be celebrated with a memorial visitation on Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown.
