Softball Patriots Off to a Ridiculous Start

The North Warren softball Patriots might have something going on, winning their first two games with a combined score of 25-0.

In their 10-0 opener April 6 against Hopatcong, they pitched a five-inning complete game striking out seven while walking just one and giving up four hits.

Katelyn Galante drove in three of the Pats’ 10 runs and hit a home run, followed by Megan Galante and Carly Selesky with two each. And everyone in the batting order got at least one hit.

Later that day, in tournament play, the Pats returned to the diamond and quickly dispatched Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg 15-0.

Carly Selesky pitched a four-inning, one-hit complete game, striking out 10 of the 12 batters she faced.

Riley Grandin went two for three, knocking in five runs including a home run. Chelsea Forte drove in three runs, and Katelyn Galante and Megan Galante each brought two runs home.

Next home game is against Warren Hills April 13 at 10 a.m.
