Vincent J. Nicholais

Vincent J. Nicholais, 47, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2024.

He was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to James and June (Winters) Nicholais on May 27, 1976.

Vincent was a 1995 graduate of North Warren High School. He attended Morris County Community College for a short time. He joined the United States Marine Corps on January 27, 1997, and made expert shooter of his company. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and attended Naval aviation school in Pensacola, Florida. In 1998, he was transferred to Miramar Marine base in San Diego, California. Vince was a crew chief instructor on the CH53E helicopter. He was honorably discharged from the military in 2002.

Vince stayed in San Diego and graduated from the San Diego State University with a degree in finance. His first employment was with Vanguard in Phoenix, Arizona and Arizona became his home.

Employed with Cox in finance and then hired by Arizona Public Service and worked there for 14 years. His last position was maintenance supervisor for the Redhawk power plant. Most recently was senior financial business analyst for Salt River Project in Gila Bend, Arizona.

Vincent had the best of two worlds in Arizona. He could hunt for his elk in the winter months in Flagstaff and fish all summer on his favorite lake, Lake Pleasant, Maricopa County, Arizona.

Vincent is survived by his fiancé, Kelly; and his two children, Vincent, Jr., 6; and Charlie, 4. He adored his children and was always with them. He is also survived by his mother June; sister Kim Nicholais (Devlin); Sabrina Bradley (David); and nephews Eston; Silas; and Lucien.
