Joseph Charles Stickles

Joseph Charles Stickles, 54, a resident of Blairstown, passed away on February 3, 2024.

He was born in Newton on November 3, 1969 to Edward and Anna (Delbagno) Stickles.

Joe was a graduate of Newton High School Class of 1988. He then went on to college and graduated from Oklahoma University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. After graduating from college, Joe moved back to New Jersey and lived in Hoboken while working in the New York City financial istrict for many years. Since 2006, he worked at Cornerstone Title & Settlement LLC in Newton.

He was predeceased by his mother, Anna Stickles, in 2019; his sister-in-law, Beth Stickles, in 2017; and his adoring godparents, Aunt Anne and Uncle Charlie Wiener.

Joe is survived by his father, Edward Sr.; his brothers Ed Jr. (Debbie) and John Stickles; and his sister, Louise Mauro (Mike). He is also survived by his nephews Ed III (Julie); Roman (Kim); and Logan Stickles; and Michael and Dan Mauro and his niece Sarah Meyer (Steve). In addition, Joe leaves behind his godchildren and many other extended family and so many countless friends.

Although Joe was one of four children, both he and his mother liked to brag that he was her favorite and they made sure everyone knew it.

Joe was an all-around thoughtful and likeable person who truly cared about others. Friends were so important to him and he cherished the time he spent with them.

Everyone who knew Joe was able to appreciate his humor and knowledge of many topics. He always had something funny to say to make people laugh and feel at ease. Besides hanging out with friends or family he enjoyed sports and gambling, usually accompanied by whichever friends or family he was with at any given moment.

A period of visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown.
