David Arthur Gladd, Sr., 85 years of age, a long time resident of Columbia, passed away at his home on October 16th, 2023. He was born in Hope on December 16th, 1937 to Russell and Iva (George) Gladd. He was employed in the maintenance department at M & M Mars in Hackettstown. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp.
David had an enormous heart and a strong love for his family. His loss will be felt deeply by his family and friends.
David loved sports. He was a big Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams fan. David also enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooted for driver/owner Bill Elliott.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Gladd, and his daughter, Jodi Singleton; son-in-law Robert; daughter-in-law Robin Gladd; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Read, and a brother, Russell Gladd. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice, and a son, David Gladd, Jr.
Services are private and are entrusted to the care of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstow.
