Michal Stephanie Sims, 73, of Hope died September 7th, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center. She was born in California in 1950 to Mike and Martha and was the youngest of five children.
She lived in California for 42 years. She attended San Francisco Junior Academy and Rio Lindo Adventist Academy and worked as a secretary for Shaklee Corporation and The Northern California Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. After marrying her husband, Joseph E. Sims, in 1992, they moved to New Jersey, where she lived until her death.
She was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and actively took part in church work throughout her life.
She loved animals and had several beloved dogs and cats throughout her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting and loved sharing her crafts with her family and friends. She was also passionate about helping others and donating to charity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Sims; her four siblings, Jeanne, Donald, Carol, and Douglas; and her best friend and dear sister in Christ, Pamela J. Hutton.
She is survived by her son, James Gatine; his wife, Joann; their two children, Lucy and Nico; and her daughter, Jennifer E. Gatine.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of Michal’s favorite charities, Holbrook Indian School in Holbrook, Arizona.
