Harry Bogush, 88, of Columbia, NJ, formerly of Bloomingdale, NJ; passed away on August 10, 2023, in Fredon, NJ. He was born in Ranshaw, PA to Gregory and Evelyn (Mosko) Bogush on November 8, 1934. Harry grew up in Little Falls, NJ and resided in Bloomingdale for many years.
After serving in the Navy for four years, Harry attended Seton Hall University and met Mary in class. They married in 1960 and have been happily married for 63 years. Harry graduated in 1962.
Harry was an IRS agent investigating international taxes. He ultimately retired when the computer was mandatory for his use. His retirement was enjoyed with his wife Mary at the shore at their Park Model Trailer, by Cape May, NJ. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. He also played the saxophone and was known to listen to polka music.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, three sons, Gregory, wife Cynthia, Paul, wife Margaret, son Michael, wife Kristine, daughter Cynthia Firtek, 5 granddaughters, Ashley, Caroline, Jennifer, Emily Bogush, Michelle Firtek, two grandsons, Matthew Bogush, and Brian Firtek. He was predeceased by his son in law, John Firtek, a grandson, Alexander Bogush, sister Elaine Pajewski.
A period of visitation will be August 16, 2023 from 10:45 to 11:45 AM, at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:45 AM, interment will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Harry’s name to either Karen A Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave, Newton, NJ 07860 or St. Jude Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
