Bernard “Bernie” J. Bonner, 79 years of age, a resident of Hope, passed away on April 26th, 2023.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Bernard F. and Mildred (McMahon) Bonner on December 6th, 1943.
After graduating from Villanova in 1966, he started his career at RCA. In 1970, he joined Warner Lambert and later started his own company, The Bonner Group. He had great enjoyment co-founding the biotech company, Cascade, and his 45 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
Bernie was a sports enthusiast. He loved playing golf with his buddies at Harkers Hollow and with family members on any golf course. Many years were spent coaching Little League baseball and watching Villanova basketball games. His happy place was at the Jersey Shore. He had fond memories of his trips to Italy and loved his trips to Virginia Beach, Los Angeles and Chicago to see his children and grandchildren. Relaxation for Bernie was a good glass of wine and lots of conversation.
Spending time at his home mowing his lawn on his tractor and maintaining his flower gardens were big passions in his life. They came second only to his love for his wife, Norina, and his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Norina; his son, Dr. Kevin Bonner and his wife Cathy; his daughter, Dr. Christina Bonner and her husband RJ Mangone; and son, Michael Bonner and his wife Masako Ichino; and his beloved grandchildren, Justin and his wife Deanna; Kate, Matthew, Jackson, Connor, Spencer, Midori and Mari. He is also survived by two brothers, Greg Bonner and his wife Annette; and Vincent Bonner and his wife Anne; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
