An original story about every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams has grown up and fallen in love with a young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. If that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
The production is co-directed by Carl Wallnau and Lea Antolini Lid. Wallnau serves as the theatre department chair at Centenary University and the artistic director for CSC. He has appeared onstage and directed numerous times at CSC, most recently seen in the production of “The Ladykillers.” Antolini Lid is the assistant professor of theater and dance as well as the director of CSC’s Young Audience Series Tour, and the producer/director of the NEXTstage Rep. Summer Stock Musical Series. Most recently, Antoine Lid directed “RENT” in the summer of 2022, as well as the YAS production of “Frog & Toad” at CSC this past fall and was seen onstage as the stepmother in “Cinderella.” The cast features students of Centenary University’s theatre program.
