Diane Catherine Frimberger (née Barkow) died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 12:35 a.m.. She was 80 years old. Diane had been living at Forest Manor Health Care Center in Hope since suffering a massive stroke on September 15, 2020. She was born in Newark but raised in Mendham. In 1960, she met the love of her life, Walter K. Frimberger, and they married on January 27, 1962. This union resulted in three beautiful children: Lisa A. Hajtovik; Walter K. Frimberger, Jr.; and Jennifer M. O’Brien.
After marriage, the new couple lived in Morristown for a number of years before moving back to Diane’s beloved Mendham where they raised their children. On retirement, the Frimbergers relocated to Columbia, Knowlton Township in 1999, where they still called home.
Diane spent her married life raising her children and maintaining a comfortable home for her family. She coached junior little league for a time, taught Sunday school and developed the skills of a fine cook. Her holiday dinners were always a treat for her growing family. She was also an avid gardner, with some of the finest flower beds you have ever seen!
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Walter; her daughter Lisa Hajtovik (Alan) of Bridgewater; two granddaughters, Megan Fenske (Taylor) of Morristown; and Melanie Holt of Somerville.
Also her son Walter K. Frimberger, Jr. (Donna) of Lake Mohawk; granddaughter Emily Radler, (Jared) of Hackettstown; and great-grandsons, Harrison and Henry. Also a grandson, Walter K. Frimberger III.
Also her youngest daughter Jennifer O’Brien (Anthony) of Rockaway Township.
She is also survived by her sister Carol Compton (William (Bill)) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.
Services private at the request of the family with a celebration of her life to be scheduled at a later time.
