Margaret “Peggy” Moore, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2023. Born in Passaic on March 2, 1928, to Cyril and Margaret (Conroy) Gladwell, Peggy lived most of her life in Passaic until the late 80s when she moved to Franklin and lived in Hamburg. For the last years of her life, “Grandma Peggy” lived with her son, Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Maureen, in Blairstown.
Peggy graduated from Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic in 1946. In 1948, Peggy and William, Sr. married at St. Clare’s Roman Catholic Church in Clifton. In her professional life, she was an officer for New Jersey Bank (now PNC Bank) in Passaic.
She was an avid reader, of paper and digital books, and was fond of following family affairs on social media. She was also very happy around family pets, and was especially close to Gracie, her faithful feline companion.
Loving mother of William Moore, Jr. and wife Mary; Joseph Moore and wife Maureen; and Maggie Moore and husband William Rogers. She is also survived by her grandchildren Derik Moore, Vanessa Moore (William and Mary); Matthew Rogers, Tara Demers, Bevan Rogers (Maggie and William); Joseph Moore, Jennifer Moore and Jade Moore (Joseph and Maureen); and her 15 great grandchildren.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents; sister Mary Fleming; and brother John Gladwell; husband William Moore Sr.; and daughter Margaret “Maggie” Moore.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19 at Newbaker Funeral Home in Blairstown.
