Luke Hunter Stroud, 23 years of age, passed away suddenly at home.
Born on July 14, 1999 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was a resident of Hope, New Jersey. Having graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Luke was currently a student at the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. He was majoring in wildlife studies with a minor in biology. Animals were his passion and he knew many facts on many species. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and truly loved the outdoors. The family farm “Angel Hill” was his special place.
He is survived by his parents, David W. and Karen (Runyon) Stroud; his grandparents, Eva and Harry Runyon; his brother Tyler Stroud; and aunts and uncles, Linda and Mike Osborne; Sandra and Ed Wozniak; Heather Runyon and John Hardin.
Luke was an organ donor, and through his gift of life, he was able to save five other lives.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at St. Peter and St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Great Meadows, New Jersey with a memorial mass to follow at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, New Jersey on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 12:45 p.m.
