Jonathan William Pulver

Jonathan William Pulver passed away peacefully on Saturday December 10, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 18, 1983 in Phillipsburg, John remained a lifelong resident of Warren County, always within reach of his beloved sisters. A graduate of Belvidere High School, John was proudly employed by Smigel Construction in Blairstown NJ. John loved the outdoors and grew up hunting, fishing, and hiking throughout Warren and Sussex Counties. His love for the outdoors also led to an unexpected archaeological hobby.

During the last ten years, John frequently participated in excavations of Revolutionary War encampments in Crown Point N.Y. So it was no small surprise that in recent weeks, when not reaching for the comfort of his loved one’s hands, he also found fulfillment in holding a British soldier’s uniform button he had excavated. This button and other efforts have recently been published.

John loved hard, alternative music and was frequently “that big guy” at the edge of the mosh pit helping strangers regain their footing while keeping a watchful eye over his sister. He loved both cooking outdoors and working on his truck, both pastimes were in reality, just an excuse to hang out with his “Thunder Buddies.” John never really admitted to the guys how much he loved all the countless hours he spent watching corny movies and shows with his girlfriend Mia. John is survived by his immediate family including parents Dolores and Harry, his two loving sisters, Brenda and Kimmie, his nieces, Aubrey and Willow, his loving girlfriend Mia, as well as his extended family, “Mamma Mel” and Billy, Ray, and of course the aforementioned “Thunder Buddies,” Joey and Nick. John was predeceased by the true love of his life, his loyal dog Winston.

John recently spent his time overlooking Hunts Pond, the same location where a celebration of his life will be held on a future date. This celebration will be held close to what would have been his 40th birthday and all are welcome. We can all smile knowing that John will love to see us together but mortified to find out the celebration is for him. Please check back to get the full details.
