Ida Martyniuk, 99 years of age, a resident of Columbia, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Clover Rest Home in Columbia, NJ. She was born in Kleinerdlingen, Germany on January 21, 1923 to Ludwig and Crescenze Wittmann. Ida lost her loving husband Zygmunt in 1985 and has been an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother with exceptional skills cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, gardening and helping to raise her three grandchildren. She loved to hike the woods at Stokes State Forest with her two younger sisters Bertha and Josephine (both now deceased) when she lived in Sandyston sharing a mutual appreciation of nature, bird watching and loud conversation in both German and English. Her greatest love, however, always was family which included her three dogs: Dobie, Pookie, and Pooh Bear.
She is survived by her son Peter and wife Carol, son Roman and wife Effie, grandchildren Matthew and wife Rashida, Christie Ann Annunziato and husband Vincent, Michael and wife Katie Drago; great grandchildren, Nova and Kai Martyniuk, Nina and James Annunziato; stepchildren Alison and John Loro, James and Leanne Masters, and Joseph Masters and Mara Ojeda Masters; step grandchildren Sylvia and Rosalie Loro, and Evan and Kyle Masters.
A “Celebration of Life” is planned for January 21, 2023 on what would have been her 100th birthday. Details to follow at a later date.
