Eugene “Gene” James Starr, 59 years of age, lf Magnolia Springs, AL, formerly of Millington, NJ, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long personal life struggle. He was born in Kent. CT to William and Ruthann (Emerson) Starr on May 13, 1963. He had been a mechanical designer at Sigma Design, in Springfield, NJ for 25 years, before moving to Alabama in 2017. One of Gene’s greatest joys was serving on the Milllington Fire Dept. where he was a life member and proudly served as Fire Chief fo several years as well as serving on many committees.
He is survived by his dear friend and ex wife, Cindy Starr, a son Connor and wife Joanna of Rockaway, NJ, a daughter Olivia of Bedminster, NJ, son Adam St/Pierre, Racine,Wisconsin 3 brothers, Peter and wife Tammy, Hermon, ME, Matt and wife, Kent, CT, Peston and wife Meg of Bradford, NH, a sister Genny and husband Bobby . of Foley, AL, his devoted mother, Ruthann Schindler and husband, James of Magnolia Springs, AL. He was predeceased by his father William Starr.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4PM, Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Valley Memorial Home ,1012 Valley Road Gillette, Arrangements are entrusted to Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825.
