Dennis Anthony Monaco, Sr. 71 years of age, of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on October 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Newark, NJ, on June 12, 1951 to Frank O. and Viola (Martucci) Monaco. He graduated from Bloomfield HS in 1970 and served honorably in the US National Guard for 6 years.
Before retiring 12 years ago, Dennis was a buyer/wholesaler for Lynne’s Auto Group. He also owned Monaco’s Luncheonette across from Bloomfield High in the late 70s and 80s. He was a car enthusiast and owned over 200 cars, and was fond of Cadillacs and Corvettes. He loved the beach and spending time with his family at the Jersey Shore where he owned beach houses in Manahawken and Barnegat.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mildred “Millie” , two sons, Marc Anthony Monaco, Dennis Anthony Monaco, Jr, wife Ziyoda, four grandsons, Dorian Michael, Caison Lee, Ronan Chris , Dennis Anthony Monaco III , two step grandsons Zabi and Timur, a brother-in-law Daniel J. Mauriello, Jr, nephews Frank Anthony and Daniel J. Mauriello III, Robert F. Monaco, and a niece Dana Marie Gargiulo. He was predeceased by his parents, his twin sister Joyce Ann Mauriello, and his older brother Robert O. Monaco.
Visitation will be held, from 2-4PM & 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Codey Mackey Funeral Home, 101 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ. A liturgy of Christian burial will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 7th at Holy Family RC Church, Nutley, NJ. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
