Ann M. Sandberg, 90 years of age, a long-time resident of Blairstown, NJ, passed away at her home in Blairstown, on July 24, 2022. She was born in West Chester, PA on October 4, 1931, to Willliam Earl and Florence (Thompson) Sandmeyer. To many Ann was known as “Mrs. Blairstown”. Amongst her many success stories was the establishment of the ever-popular July 4th Footbridge celebration. She singularly chaired this event for many years which continues to this day. Ann’s effervescence was well known and as a friend one always knew where she stood on issues, personal and professional. She had retired from Blairstown Body Shop as secretary/treasurer after 36 years. Always an active community member, she had been a charter member of the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the original old library and loved crosswords and was an avid reader.
She is survived by 5 children, Lenarth R. Sandberg, wife Karen, Kathleen R. Gerry, husband Christopher, Janin M. Zukoski, husband George, Scott Sandberg, wife Doris, Carl J. Sandberg, wife Rosalie, deceased and was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lenarth Torsten Sandberg and a son Gary N. Sandberg.
