Juliana Repasky

Juliana Tuttle Repasky, Columbia, NJ, passed away peacefully in early morning March 19, 2022.  She was 80 years young, born December 31, 1941 in Greenville, PA of the late Everett Leroy & Mary Alice (Kennedy) Tuttle.

Julie was a graduate of St Michael’s High School in Greenville, PA.  She went on to earn her college degrees in education from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA and East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Julie moved to New Jersey from western PA in 1969, residing in Blairstown since 1977.  She previously was a teacher in Bedford, OH and Monroeville, PA.  She developed and coordinated the highly successful Gifted & Talented curriculum at North Warren Regional High School in Blairstown for over 20 years.  During this time she presented at an International Conference on Gifted Education, was cited by Rutgers University for outstanding teaching in NJ and received numerous local and county awards for her work in Gifted Education.

She was devoted to her family and her church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, catechist and lector at St Jude Church and member of the St Jude Ladies Guild.  She had a strong commitment to the service of others, including Education Chairwoman on the Warren County Mental Health Board and serving as a certified Stephens Minister and spiritual director.  Along with her husband, Julie conducted Marriage Encounter and Retorno weekends for couple spiritual growth and hosted and presented with the Marianists at Cape May Point in their family life programs.

Since Julie’s retirement, when not volunteering, she enjoyed social activities with the Ravishing Red Hat group and travelling with her husband in their RV to 48 of the 50 states, not getting to NV and HI, including a 3 month trip to Alaska, western Canada & northwestern US.  She loved to hike, explore new areas and just wander in the beauty of nature.  While at home she loved gardening and watching the animals come through her back yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles Tuttle.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Michael, sons John of New Braunfels, TX and Joseph of Blairstown, NJ, a daughter Stephanie of New Orleans, LA, brothers Robert (wife Karen) of Brevard, NC and John (wife Elaine) of York, PA, sister Nancy Taylor (husband Gary) of Newtown, PA and nieces and nephews, Danica Taylor, Bradley and Mindy Tuttle, Glenn and Michele Orlosky, Edward and Mindy Hartley, Paul, Alexander and Rachel Hartley, Kathy, Steve, Samuel, and Nicholas Baronowsky, Amelia and Benjamin Caffarel.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St Jude church, 7 Eisenhower Road, Columbia, NJ 07832 or St Michael’s Church Cemetery Fund, 85 North High Street, Greenville, PA 16125.

Viewing hours will be from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday March 22 at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 AM on Wednesday March 23 at St Jude’s RC Church, 7 Eisenhower Road, Columbia, NJ.  Final interment service & burial will be at St Michael’s Cemetery, 85 North High Street, Greenville, PA.

For those unable to attend the Mass of Christian burial, it will be live streamed on St Jude’s web site “stjudech.org”.
