Joan Doris Malcolm, 89, years of age, a resident of Knowlton Township, NJ passed away on February 24, 2022, in Andover, NJ. She was born in Orange, NJ on November 22, 1932, to Lester and Doris (Zink) Werner. She had been a manager for Allendale Insurance, Livingston, NJ – a commercial insurance company.She was an avid reader, whose particular favorite was author James Patterson. She loved British mysteries on TV. She had been a homemaker for many years and then went to work part time in the Orange School system, and then worked for Allendale Insurance, advancing to becoming a manager prior to retiring.
She is survived by her son, Darryl Malcolm and wife Susan “Sue”, a son Russell Malcolm, three grandchildren – Cati, Alexander, Kristopher and wife Nicole plus a great grandchild, Leo Malcolm. She was predeceased by her two sisters – Judy and Beverly Werner – and a brother Lester Werner. In addition, she was predeceased by her husband Alexander, a WWII veteran, in 1998 and a daughter Tammy in 2006.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022, with a service at 4PM (repast will be at Chef’s Catering in Knowlton afterward) at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825. Interment will be private.
