Steven John Zukoski, 100 years of age, a long-time resident of Blairstown, NJ, passed away on January 12, 2022 in Newton, NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ on December 26, 1921, to the late George and Agnes (Korzeniowski) Zukoski. He had been a heavy equipment operator in the 1950’s for Operating Engineers local 825 retiring in 1984 and ran a crane dumping concrete on the lower level of the GW Bridge. He is remembered by his family as a very kind, thoughtful person to everyone. An excellent carpenter who loved to fix everything, he also hand-crafted hundreds of items out of silverware. An amazing person, he loved his family and friends and at everyone’s birthday he would sing in Polish to them, “Bless you to live to 100 years old,” and he did live to be 100. The Lord has a wonderful man and he will be greatly missed. He enjoyed gardening and farming, feeding beef cows. He was greatly loved and will be missed.
He is survived by four sons, George Zukoski and wife Jan, Michael Zukoski, wife Sue, Thomas Zukoski and wife Liz, John Zukoski, a daughter Elaine Bedo, husband Mike, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine in 2017, two sisters and a brother.
