Carol Ann Midkiff

Carol Ann Midkiff, 85 years of age, a resident of Frelinghuysen since 1992, previously of Hardwick, Mendham, Jersey City and Teaneck passed away on January 11, 2022. She attended Snyder High School in Jersey City, went to Jersey City State and Fairleigh Dickinson University for a BA in Elementary Education in 1970. She went on to get her masters in Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg State College in 1977. She worked on her doctorate at Lehigh University and eventually received her Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from the University of Biblical Studies in 1992. She taught in many different schools including Blairstown Elementary School, for 12 years, where she started the Gifted and Talented program. She founded Blairstown Christian School, and then worked at Faith Christian School and then for 10 years at the American Christian School in Succasunna, NJ where she established the Arrowsmith Program for children with learning disabilities. She was headmaster there until her retirement in 2011 at age 75. She and her husband Woody also provided a loving home for over 35 foster children. She was one of the co-founders of the Evangelical Free Church of Blairstown. Carol enjoyed writing poetry, taking walks, and flower gardening. She was able to fulfill one of her lifelong goals of going to Norway and visiting the island of Flekkeroy where her father grew up. She loved worshipping God with her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ at the Knowlton Presbyterian Church in Knowlton, NJ.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Woody, children Karen Woodcock, Barbara Rios, husband Bobby, Cheryl Bodemann, husband Don, Chuck Mills, wife Rosanna, Alan Midkiff, Christian Midkiff, wife Maria, Kristi Midkiff and Dan Midkiff, wife June. She was predeceased by her daughter Robin Joy in 1959 and her father, Christian who died in 1982 and her mother, Carrie Conrad who died in 1994 and her siblings, Roy, wife Barbara, George, wife Renate, Stanley, and Doris husband Adolph. Survivors also include 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, her brother Arnold wife Sharon and sister-in-law Joyce.

A memorial service will be held July 30, 2022, 1pm at Alan Midkiff’s, 120 Camp Wasigan Rd, Blairstown, NJ.
